The sunflower usually grow about 6 ft. tall and bears wide bright yellow disc florets with yellow or brown red centers. While growing, the beautiful ray will follow the suns path, but once the flower matures it generally will face east. Sunflowers are known not only for their big cheerful flower heads but also for the seeds that are enjoyed for a nutritious snack for humans as well as food for the birds and squirrels.
