Goats and sheep were domesticated a long time ago dating back to early 6000 b.c. in Asia Minor. They are closely related to the sheep family. For farm owners, they are a low maintenance animal to keep and provide many benefits to their owners including their provision of milk which is used for those how have an allergy to cow's milk.
As they are growing around kids they can be very cute and tame, but don't forget, their nature his to head butt!
This photo was taken on a farm just outside of Mauston, Wisconsin. These happy goat friends were hoping for a hand out of oats!
